A new beginning to campus safety

From December 2023 to June 2024, I worked on a campus safety application for my high school, collaborating closely with the principal and administration team to develop a solution tailored to the school's needs. Check out the designs here!

WIREFRAMING & IDEATION

In the wireframing stage, I wasn't sure how I wanted to structure the application—whether it needed a more simplistic, minimalistic design or something with more content and interactive elements. I explored different layouts to find the right balance between usability and functionality.

RESULT

Looking back, the final design was something I was really satisfied with. It struck the right balance between simplicity and functionality, featuring a well-developed modern UI that was both intuitive and visually appealing.

ADMIN PANEL

Alongside the actual application, I developed the backend and an admin panel that provided a centralized system for managing user data efficiently. This panel allowed me to oversee emergency reports, user profiles, incident logs, and other critical safety-related information. By implementing a structured database and intuitive interface, I ensured that the administration team could easily access and process real-time data, improving overall response times and security measures within the school environment.

REFLECTION

Balancing Simplicity and Functionality

Initially, I struggled with deciding whether the app should have a minimalist design or include more complex features. In the end, I found a balance that provided essential functionality without overwhelming the user experience.

Building a Scalable System

Developing both the app and the backend gave me insight into how important it is to create a system that can grow with user needs. I made sure the database and admin panel were structured in a way that could support future expansion.
